Road Accident Fund (RAF)
Have you ever been a victim of a road accident incident that resulted in a claim against the RAF. Have you ever been told that The Contingency Agreement you sign with your attorney means you will pay 25% (win or lose)? If you answer “yes” you have probably been scammed.
The Contingency Act, sec 2(b) says that the attorney can double his normal rate, he can claim up to 25% of the claim but he is entitled to the lesser of the two.
Our investigators have been involved in several matters where the attorney has taken hundreds of thousands of Rands which was not legally due to him/her. The taxation of his/her legal account reveals the actual amount due to him in fees but unsuspecting clients do not this and happily agree to part with 25% of their claim.
Attorneys all contribute to The Fidelity Fund – the fund ensures that victims get compensated for monies lost to attorneys as a result of their misconduct.
Our investigators are standing by to assist you if you suspect or know that you have lost Thousands of Rands to your attorney as a result of a RAF claim.
Our investigators will assist you to recover your losses from the RAF and to take the necessary steps to report the attorney to The Law Society.
